On 19 November 2024, lots of people took part in Bubnovačka, a special drumming event, to raise awareness on protecting children from violence. Because every child deserves to feel safe and loved.
United by the beat
In the Czech Republic, over 150,000 people drummed on whatever they could find—pots, tables, or drums. People drummed in schools, at home, and outside in parks and squares. It was a way to stand up for children who need help.
The biggest event happened at Prague Castle (Pražský hrad), with President Petr Pavel there to show his support. Lots of people also shared videos and photos online using #Bubnovacka2024.

Drumming in Brussels
Drumming also happened in Brussels during the 5th meeting of the EU Network for Children’s Rights – held on 19 November. Representatives from EU country governments and civil society, led by Czech and Slovak delegates, drummed to show they care about keeping children safe.
A huge THANK YOU to everyone who drummed! Let’s keep working toward a world where every child feels safe and heard.
