Children and families in difficulty now have a new place to turn to in Iași, Romania. The first multidisciplinary centre for children and families is officially open!
The centre was launched during the annual conference of the non-governmental Platform member, Justice for Minors, under the theme “Professionals for Children.” It aims to help solve problems faced by children and families, offering them support, guidance, and hope for a better future.
Experts from various fields, including law, social work, and child psychology, will collaborate to offer comprehensive solutions tailored to the needs of children and families.
How the center helps children
The new centre focuses on supporting children facing tough challenges, such as family disputes, international custody issues, or social problems caused by migration. Specialists at the centre will work to find the best solutions for each case, ensuring that the rights and well-being of children are prioritised.
Parents can also benefit from the center’s services. For example, families experiencing separation or divorce will get help in resolving issues related to child custody, visitation rights, and shared responsibilities. The aim is always to ensure the best interest of the child.
Involving children in the process
One unique feature of the centre is its commitment to listening to children. During the planning and setup of the centre, children were consulted to better understand their needs. This ensures that the services offered truly match what children find important.
The center also organises workshops and activities where children can share their thoughts and ideas, helping professionals shape solutions that work for them.
A brighter future for kids
The opening of this centre in Iași is a big step forward for children and families in Romania. With its focus on collaboration, listening to children, and improving justice, the center promises to make a real difference in many lives.
Children are the heart of our future, and with centres like this, they can grow up in safer, more supportive environments.
A broader mission
Justice for Minors doesn’t just work locally. It collaborates with other countries to create cross-border networks of specialists. These experts help resolve international family law cases, such as child abduction or relocation disputes.
