We have just closed our online survey about cyberbullying. Thanks to the 6,300 children and teens who took part! We’ll share the first results later in October.
The results of this survey will help the European Commission write a plan with ideas and actions that adults, schools and online platforms should follow to keep children and young people safe online.
Together, we can make the internet a kinder and safer place for everyone.
What was the survey about?
The survey included questions about what cyberbullying looks like, whether children have seen or experienced it, and who children think it affects most. And very importantly, it asked for children's ideas on how to prevent cyberbullying and better protect those who are affected by it.
Who did we hear from?
- 6,300 children and teenagers aged between 12-17
- Living in an EU Member State, or EU citizens living abroad
- For those 18 or over, they could add their input to the adult consultation: Action plan against cyberbullying
How the survey worked
- The online survey took about 15 minutes
- It was available in all EU languages
- Children could do it on their own or ask a trusted adult to help (like a parent, carer or teacher)
- Children could skip questions and only answer the ones they wanted to
What will happen to children's answers?
- Children's answers, together with input from adults and organisations, will be considered in the EU’s Action Plan on Cyberbullying
- A summary of the results and the Action Plan will be published on this website so you can see how children's input has been used.
If you want to talk to someone about how you are feeling, please speak to a trusted adult or call a helpline for children in your country. They can get you the help and support you need.
