Children from 11 EU countries presented 17 projects at our June 20-21 General Assembly meeting. This showcased their amazing work to support children's rights and amplify children's voices!
The workshop was scoped with, and facilitated by, our Communication Co-creation Team. Many thanks to Charlie, Erica, Iggy, Kaloyan, Maria and Yoana (who could not be with us in person) for their great ideas and hard work!
Kids taking the lead
The criteria were that children should be in the lead or very involved in the implementation of a project which was completed between January 2024 to May 2025.
Each group explained how the kids were involved and what benefits and impacts there were on a specific topic, children's rights or child participation. There are two types of impact - both very important!
- Positive change for other children, through child-focused communications and programs, and influencing decision-makers, media and other adults
- Knowledge and growth for the children leading the projects; building confidence, skills, democratic participation and experiencing the power of their own voices!
17 inspiring projects!
Children presented their projects in different ways including video, followed by digital voting to see if there were any 'favourites' (with separate voting for children and adults). Votes were spread out with no really big favourites. However, two projects did have a few more votes than the others:
- Kid's favourite: The Homework Monster Book, TICE, Italy
Adult's favourite: We Speak. They Nod. Nothing Changes. VŠĮ Debesų Kiemas, Lithuania
