The EU Children’s Participation Platform ensures more young voices are heard by helping children across the EU realise their right to participate in decision making and to share, learn and connect with others.
Children are involved through digital and in-person consultations, meetings and other activities.

New recommendations - Protecting children from violence
On 23 April 2024, the European Commission published recommendations to help ensure the safety of children. Feedback from over 1,000 children and a consultation with EU adults is reflected in these recommendations.
The aim is to help improve the collaboration between all the adults who take care of children.

COPE wants to hear from children
Our member, Children of Prisoners Europe (COPE) has an online survey on an important subject. How to make prison spaces more child-friendly for children visiting a parent.
They will share children's thoughts with people who make decisions about prisons in EU countries. They can then learn more about children’s experiences of prison facilities, and help to make the visits more child-friendly.

Advisory Board -- April 2024
The Advisory Board discussed how the Platform has worked until now, the direction for the next Work Plan, and approved the safeguarding framework. Child members participated in website, media and theatre workshops.
Our young Board members also met with the Commission's Vice-President Dubravka Šuica to discuss concerns, priorities and EU-level actions concerning children.
