Ektor: My first experience with the Platform

Hear from Ektor, aged 14 from Greece who tells us about his first time at one of our events. He shares his experiences from day one of the June General Assembly meeting in Brussels.

"The General Assembly is an event that takes place every year in Brussels and children from all over Europe have the unique chance to express their opinions and actually be heard.

The event started on Friday morning after the breakfast at the hotel.

First day, first impressions

The opening event was really crucial because we learned about the importance of the event and what was going to happen during the day and at the workshops.

In the beginning of the first workshop, everyone seemed to be really nervous but with the valuable help from the organisers, everything was perfect!

During both the first and the second workshops, the experiences was one of a lifetime because we were able to discuss with people from a different country and also share our ideas to important people.

Later in the day, we were presented with many projects that were created by young children based on the problems of their country.

The end of the day, we were offered a tour around the capital and stopped at some restaurants to have dinner.

Last but not least, I firmly hope that this event still happens every year and more children will have the chance to express themselves."
