Democracy Toolkit: Your guide to making a difference!

Since we started working with our young members in 2023, they have been telling us that they were not getting enough information at school about democracy, voting, what goes on in the European Union and how they can get involved.

This was repeated by over 1,900 children in a 2024 survey on democracy and voting. So we decided to do something about it and created the Democracy Toolkit!

This interactive toolkit was co-created and tested with children from our Advisory Board and Children's Panel, to ensure it will work for kids aged 9-13.

It can help you practise democracy, transform abstract concepts into actions, build your confidence and guide you on how to get actively involved in your schools and communities.

Get the toolkit going in your school!

It's a great activity to do with school classmates, so let your teachers know about it. There are notes and explanations for your teachers to help them organise each activity, plus some ideas for extra activities.

Get the Democracy Toolkit in your EU language on the EU's Learning Corner website and start your journey to becoming a Democracy Champion!
