Body

UNESCO has launched a consultation Education Beyond 2030, open to children and young people from ages 11-17, to help shape future education.

The consultation is open until 20 September 2026 and you can participate individually or as part of a group.

What is this consultation about?

Children and young people are directly affected by education policies and will experience the long-term impact of decisions taken today. Which is why it is really important to hear what they have to say!

This consultation will ensure that children and young people’s perspectives and ideas are meaningfully integrated into defining future priorities.

Through a global survey and consultation meetings, children and youth are being asked to give their views on three themes:

  • children and young people’s vision and aspirations for the world
  • the changes they would like to see in education and learning
  • the actions they are willing to take to help bring about these changes

How can I participate?

  • The consultation is open to all students and young people between the ages of 11-30 until 20 September 2026
  • The online survey is available in English and some of the EU languages, along with other world languages. Follow the link below to see if your language is covered
  • You can participate as an individual - but you need to have an email address to be able to submit your responses
  • You can also participate with a group of friends, or as part of an organisation, like your school, a club or any other kind of organisation that you and other children and young people belong to
    • There are also guides (in English, French, Spanish,Arabic) for adults to help organise group discussions by age group (11-14, 15-18)

What will happen to your answers?

  • All the input will be analysed by young people from the SDG 4 Youth & Student Network and used to draft a Post-2030 Youth Education and Learning Agenda - to be presented at the 2027 Global Education Meeting
  • The Agenda will be used for the next consultation phase with governments, civil society, teachers and many other education actors.
