Sounds of Europe!

Four teenagers listening to music together, sitting under the European Union star circle
Body

Sounds of Europe is a collaborative playlist to bring together cultures, countries and young voices. It's an initiative from the Fuenlabrada Council for Child and Adolescent Participation.

Music as a common language in Europe

Music accompanies us in our daily lives, represents us and connects us. It knows no borders, languages or cultural differences. Through music, we discover shared emotions and realise that, even though we live in different countries, we have much more in common than we think.

From the Fuenlabrada Council for Child and Adolescent Participation, we are launching this initiative with a simple but powerful idea: to connect young people from different European countries through music. A European experience we want to share!

A European playlist created by young people

The activity consists of creating an open and public Spotify playlist where young people from different countries can add the songs they listen to most, the ones that represent them or those they believe say something about their culture, their generation or their way of understanding the world.

All added songs will be reviewed by the organisation, and if the content of any song could be offensive to a person or group (sexist, racist, violent, etc.), it will be removed from the list.

The result will be a collective, diverse and lively European playlist, built by everyone, which will allow us to:
•    Discover new styles and artists
•    Find out what's playing in other European countries
•    Feel part of a European youth community

Who knows, this playlist could be just the beginning of future shared actions and projects!
