The Rise and Reflect: Co-Inquiry Group was created in May 2025. It is an advisory and support body to our Platform made up of young people aged 18-21.

Why do we have an alumni group?

Since the Platform started in 2023, young members of our Advisory Board, Children's Panel and Communication Co-creation Team were asking what they could do to continue supporting the Platform after they turned 18.

These young people had skills, experiences and  precious insights that could help us to further develop the Platform from a 'younger' perspective. And during our events, the children were also saying that they would like younger facilitators.

Putting this altogether, we decided to pilot an alumni group for those child members who had played an active role in the Platform and who wanted to continue with us as young adults.

And so the Rise and Reflect: Co-Inquiry Group was born!

Who is Rise and Reflect and what do they do?

  • The Group is made up of former Platform members aged 18-21
  • They meet regularly online (facilitated and supported by a team from the University of Lancashire Centre for Children and Young People’s Participation)
  • They support ongoing Platform activities - like being facilitators or panelists at Platform or EU-level events
  • They contribute to the development of new initiatives and projects - like a research project that looks into how to make the Platform stronger
