We want to ensure that everyone can understand what is published on our website, which includes being able to read things in your own language.
We asked some of our young members which content was most interesting or important, and promised that we would get it translated into all EU languages - which has been done!
They specifically said that the content with their voices and opinions on different topics should be translated.
Based on this, a selection of webpages, child-friendly documents and colourful animated webpages are now online in all EU languages, with more to follow!
Getting our website in your language
Our website is now 'multi-language,' and there are two ways to get our website's content in other languages:
Use the website address for your language. You can save this in your bookmarks and then you will automatically see all translated content in that language, or you will see a banner or box to launch the machine translation. This solution is good if you always want to see the content in the same language. Below is an URL link for each EU language.
- At the top of the website, there is a small round icon shaped like the world. Click on it (from any webpage) and it will open a list for you to choose a language. If content is translated, then you will see it in that language and if not, you will see the banner or box to launch the machine translation. This solution is good if you like to change languages, which you can do at any time through the icon at the top of the page.
If you use the English version of the website, you will no longer see a machine translation banner or box, and you will need to follow step 2 above to get content in another language.
Increase the reach of our child participation content
Now there is content published in other EU languages, you can also use search engines (Google, Bing, Mozilla...) in your own language to find our website and content.
Please do some searches in your language and click through to the website as this will help the Platform's content to become visible in the search engines in your country.
Then more people can learn about child participation at the EU level - and get involved!
